1. Appropriate classroom behavior is expected at all
times. (Please refer to the student handbook, found in your planner, for the behavior policy.)
2. When you arrive for class, go directly to your seat and prepare for class.
Take out your covered textbook, binder, planner, homework, a pen or pencil, and any other materials required for that day.
After settling into your seat, copy homework into your planner and then get started with the DN assignment.
3. The bathroom is used with permission only. You must fill
out a pass in your planner, and sign out when you leave and in when you return.
4. Everyone will be assigned a seat.
Please keep your desk and surrounding area clean.
Garbage and recyclable materials should be placed in the approriate receptacles.
5. Your textbook is to be covered throughout the year. Do not
use tape to secure the cover to your textbook, as tape will damage the book when it is removed. You are responsible
for any damage done to your textbooks.
6. Your
binder, textbook, planner, pen or pencil, and homework are required every day.
7. Dark blue or black ink are the only acceptable colors for work and tests done in ink.
8. Homework is due the day after it is assigned, unless otherwise
directed. Late homework is not accepted. You are expected to write assignments in your planner each day
as they are assigned and to keep all pages in your planner for the entire school year.
9. Tests, reports, and projects will be announced in advance. If you are
absent the day of a test or the due date of a report or project, you will be expected to take the missed test or submit the
report or project the day you return to class. Special consideration will be given for lengthy absences due to illness.
10. You are expected to keep up with your assignments
even if you are absent. For a one-day absence, please contact a classmate for the homework. For absences of two
or more days, please call the Guidance Office to request homework.
11. Late work will not be accepted. However, at the beginning
of the year, you will receive (3) passes that will allow you to turn in any quiz or test graded assignment one day late without
penalty. You are responsible for these passes, and if you should lose them, you will not be issued new ones.
12. At the start of each marking period,
a list of extra credit assignments will be provided. Students have the opportunity to complete up to (3) assignments
per marking period. Point value will be assigned on a sliding scale. For example, a project worth 20 points the
second week of the semester might be worth 10 points halfway through, and only 5 points when there are two weeks left to go.
The extra credit points will be added to your quiz average.
